Joyce is an accomplished business executive in the Medicare and long-term care insurance fields. In her role as President and Chief Operating Officer of LifePlans Inc, she is responsible for setting the strategic vision of the company to assure bottom line profit and top line growth.

Prior to joining LifePlans in 2010, Joyce was a Senior Vice President in the Medicare division of UnitedHealth Group where she designed medical management business strategies to improve health care quality and reduce costs.

Joyce joined UnitedHealth Group in 2006 from MetLife where she was a leader in the Retirement Strategies Group and Vice President of the long-term care insurance business. Under her leadership MetLife grew to be one of the largest providers of long-term care insurance, serving national accounts customers from Fortune 100 companies, AARP, and the Federal government.

Prior positions included Vice President of Travelers long-term care insurance business, marketing director for the Visiting Nurse Association of Rhode Island, and a manager of the Long-Term Care Gerontology Center at Brown University’s Medical School.

Joyce was a delegate to the 2005 White House Conference on Aging, and she has testified to the Senate Finance Committee on long-term care issues. She has served on product Leadership Councils of the American Health Insurance Plans. A well-known professional in the field of aging, health and long-term care, Joyce has been interviewed extensively by the media including CNN, ABC, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Business Week.

Joyce received a Master in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, and a Master in Adult Education/Gerontology also from Syracuse University. She is the author of “Caregiving and You: A Resource Guide for Long-Term Care”.
